All our consultants know our stock well and can advise on the correct bra to suit your needs. Having a band size that is too large is the most common error women make when buying a bra. To get it right, measure in inches directly under your breasts around your rib cage, ensuring the tape measure goes straight across your back at the same place as where your bra would sit. Make sure the tape measure is sitting tightly on your skin.
If you are a DD cup or more, we recommend you go to the firmer fit for extra support. Measuring Your Cup Size Your cup size is a little trickier to measure, so please remember this is a guide only and can vary for some women depending on your breast shape and body shape. Ideally you would take this measurement over your best fitting non-padded bra so that your breasts are as uplifted as possible. Measure again now around the fullest part of your breasts and then find the difference between that and your band measurement.
Now look at the table below to find your estimated cup size: Please note that your cup size is not constant across the band size. American band naming and measurements are identical with British UK. Cup sizes refer to the difference between over bust and the rounded down under bust measurements. The sizes continue alphabetically in steps of 1 inch with B in , C in etc. Always calculate the difference to rounded down measurement.
Cup calculation example: Having over bust 39 inches and under bust 33 inches, the 33 needs to be rounded down to A difference of 7 inches gives us a D-cup.
When between two cup sizes, choose the larger one. The size tables below are based on actual, precise measurements. You will not need to recalculate as in the example above. Contrary to common belief, US and UK cup sizes are not identical. US and UK are both based on the same measurements in inches but the cup labels differ. Bra sizes are not standardized across brands, so the size you wear in another brand may not match up to your La Senza size. Bra fits should be done at least every 6 months to ensure you have the right size.
