However, her use of medical terminology in the lyrics is brilliant because it reflects a connection with a lover. Bleeding out feels far favorable to being separated from this lover. The depression of this album really begins here, but this song feels so light despite its heavy theme. The outro alone makes the song worth a listen!
Get ready to ascend! You ever compare a romantic relationship to a gun without the safety on? Well… this song uses that metaphor to tell the story of a previous toxic relationship.
Get ready for some more depression! Give it a listen, this is one of my favorite tracks off the album! Not the strongest on the album, but her lyricism portrays her darkest thoughts poetically. Moving on is tough, and Hayley captures it perfectly in this song. I love the metaphor she makes between her emotional state and the sky.
However, Hayley alludes to happier times in the end when she describes herself as a bird that plucks her feathers or surrendering parts of herself for the sake of another person she loves. This song, the midway point of the album, delivers more euphoric instrumentals and finally sees Williams regaining control of her circumstances. Hayley examines her past in this song, covering her inordinary experiences at home with family and in her career as the lead singer of Paramore.
If you want a total feel good song, this one is a definite highlight of the album. This song is arguably the best one on the album. Oh, oh, I need the ending, so why can't you stay, just long enough to explain? She's confused about why he would leave her to deal with all that was left of them, all that was left of her She's open to trying to make it into a relationship by turning around their downs and make it all well Chorus You can take your time, take my time.
Great song. One of my favorites off of riot! Song Meaning alright so i think this song is about one of hayley's closest friends committing suicide.
My Interpretation a comment informed me that this song was about hayley's friend who commited suicide, and i totally see it. Just running away from all of the ones who love you not taking any help From everything Take your time taking her own life away Take my time taking everyone ELSE'S life away yupperz. My Interpretation Ok ya this song could be related to a break up or depression of suicide. However if we compare this song to the scene in the twilight saga of new moon we will see that this explains the break up situation between Bella and Edward.
And he didnt stay long enough to explain. In the books edward ran away from his own family because of his depression. So if you read the lyrics and compare it to this scene in new moon you will find that it compares well. My Opinion This song makes me sooooooooooooooooo sad. I literally can't hear it or i start bawling.. SknyJean9 on September 05, Link. My Interpretation Love this song so much. Especially the opening line.
Hayley is obviously singing from a depressed point of view as saying the rain touches everything means that everything in her life is dreary since whatever bad thing happened. I think it's about someone committing suicide, mainly because of the line "You made yourself a bed at the bottom of the blackest hole" and that sounds like someone is in a grave now and it was by their choice.
Either way, I adore this song. SportsByDallas on December 28, Link. Making a bed means to be stuck in a situation. Just say it again and mean it. We don't miss a thing.
You made yourself a bed At the bottom of the blackest hole blackest hole And convinced yourself that It's not the reason you don't see the sun anymore And no, oh, how could you do it? Oh I, I never saw it coming. No, oh, I need the ending. So why can't you stay Just long enough to explain?
And when it rains, Will you always find an escape? Just running away, From all of the ones who love you, From everything. You made yourself a bed At the bottom of the blackest hole blackest hole And you'll sleep 'til May And you'll say that you don't want to see the sun anymore And no, oh, how could you do it? And no, oh, I need the ending.
So why can't you stay just long enough to explain? Take your time.
