Should i get protection plan for nook

Naturally we would pay any cost involved. Otherwise, this sounds like a good candidate for some escalation—unless e-ink screens are that difficult to replace, suggesting that a customer willing to exchange money for a working appliance just go buy a new one seems short-sighted.

I may do that! Sep 03, AM. You might be able to get another for free! Take your broken Nook to a participanting Barnes and Noble see if they will trade it in. You may have to mail it and wait for a. I was hoping that it would be fine once I popped it back togethe Can't say I don't have the money for it I keep that just in case. So far, I have the Glowlight-not the newest one I cracked the screen when my dog stepped on it. I will eventually break down and get a new one.

Aug 26, AM. I just dropped my nook on the kitchen floor. I was hoping that it would be fine once I popped it back together and restarted it, but it won't work at all. I have it plugged in, and the lines change a bit now and then, but that's all. I guess it was living on borrowed time--it's a first generation--but I was right in the middle of a very good read! Dec 31, PM. Woo Hoo!!!!! Dec 28, PM. I took advantage of the trade-in offer and turned in my wounded nook 1st ed and bought a nook Tablet.

So far I'm loving it. Dec 04, AM. When mine breaks and I am out of warranty I'm not switching to a model where I can't take my books with me. Especially when the other model lacks key features that I like. I'm not a fan of the Simple Touch but it beats losing capabilities and the books I have acquired. Right now I have a little tiny black dot on the screen, size of a period, from where my husband's screwdriver fell on it.

I've still got about 11 months of my warranty so if it gets worse or something happens I hope it does it during my warranty. If it happens outside my warranty I'll shrug my shoulders, figure that is my luck, and find another Nook, Kobo, Sony, or anything else that supports epub Dec 02, PM.

Remember you can always swipe the bottom screen insteada of using the button, if that helps:. Dec 02, AM. Carolyn wrote: "Jim, mine did the same thing last year.

I did not have the insurance, when I called they actually gave me a new one and I sent the old one back! Apparently, they are clamping down on this sort of thing. Mine is out of warranty by 6 months or so, but it's obviously a design flaw that caused it. They wouldn't replace it, nor do they have replacement parts available. I'm very disappointed about that last part - you'd think they'd stand behind the design a little better than that, especially with so many folks reporting the same issue.

I'll tape it or try to glue it so that it doesn't get worse, but I won't be buying a Nook Tablet when I decide to upgrade after this. Instead, I'll probably be looking at the Kindle Fire after the first of the year.

Remarkably, it still works pretty well but I have to be careful not to let the battery drain too far Dec 01, PM. Jim, mine did the same thing last year. I will never go back to my old nook:. Nov 30, AM. Mine the original e-ink nook has developed a crack in the case near the right side "next page" button. It is perfectly straight and is obviously due to the flexing of the case that occurs by design when the button is clicked.

Considering the amount of use I've gotten out of it I'm not too surprised, especially as that tends to be the only button I ever click.

It isn't causing any issues other than aesthetically. Still, it may be used as an excuse to get the new nook tablet soon. Nov 22, PM. I bought my nook last December.

I have had it replaced at least a half dozen times without cost. And none of the problems were a result of accidents or dropping it. As a matter of fact I just received another replacement a few weeks ago. And fortunately this one seems to be working great. However I was told that I had a 90 day window if it went bad. I never ever bought a warranty. But then I live alone and don't have small children over very often. I'm also very careful with it and thankfully have not had to replace it by buying another one!

Worth it, IMO. I also switch gadgets all the time and probably won't use this for more than a year so the extended warranty is worthless for me. All times are GMT The time now is PM.
